Summary

YappyDraw is a local-first drawing application. Your drawings and data stay on your device by default. We do not collect, store, or sell your personal data.

What Data We Collect

YappyDraw does not collect any personal information. Specifically:

No account registration is required to use YappyDraw.
No drawings, files, or content are sent to our servers.
No cookies are used for tracking or advertising.
No analytics data is shared with third parties for advertising.

Anonymous Usage Analytics

We use GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly, open-source analytics service, to understand how many people visit the site. GoatCounter does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and is fully GDPR compliant. It records only basic page view counts.

Local Storage

YappyDraw uses your browser's localStorage to auto-save your current drawing for crash recovery. This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

Google Drive Integration (Optional)

If you choose to connect your Google account, YappyDraw uses Google's OAuth 2.0 (PKCE) to authenticate. When connected:

Scope: We request the drive.file scope, which only grants access to files created by or opened with YappyDraw — not your entire Google Drive.
What is stored: Your OAuth access token is stored in your browser's localStorage to keep you signed in. It expires after 1 hour.
What is NOT stored: We do not store your Google password, and no tokens or data are sent to any server operated by us. The OAuth flow runs entirely in your browser.
Your files: Drawings saved to Google Drive are stored in your own Google Drive account, in a "YappyDraw" folder. We have no access to these files outside of your active browser session.
Revoking access: You can sign out from YappyDraw at any time, or revoke access from your Google Account permissions page.

Third-Party Services

YappyDraw uses the following third-party services:

Google Drive API — only when you explicitly connect your Google account.
Google Fonts — for loading typefaces used in drawings.
GoatCounter — for anonymous, cookie-free page view analytics.

Children's Privacy

YappyDraw does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. Since we do not collect personal data from any users, this applies equally to all age groups.

Data Deletion

Since YappyDraw does not store your data on our servers, there is nothing to delete on our end. To remove local data, clear your browser's localStorage for the YappyDraw site. To remove files from Google Drive, delete them directly from your Google Drive.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as new features are added. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of YappyDraw after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
